Anastasija Budjic slips out of her towel and starts dressing, bare skin catching the afternoon light through the window. She steps into a short black dress that clings where her body is still damp. No bra. Just skin and fabric and the faint scent of her lotion. She tugs the hem down, checks herself once, then grabs her keys. Onstage the lights hit her differently. The dress is shorter under the glare. She sings with her whole body, hips shifting in time with the beat, one strap sliding off her shoulder. The crowd presses closer, drunk on the sight of her. Sweat gathers at her collarbone and slides down between her breasts, catching the light each time she leans into the microphone. She holds a note, thighs tense, mouth parted, and you can see the wet sheen on her inner lip before she pulls back and smiles like she knows exactly what she just showed you.
