Kevin and Andrea slid back into their favorite seats with Mr. Skin, the same familiar warmth they always carried between them. When the talk turned to the mini mansion’s next guest, Stuttering Joe joined them on the couch. He leaned forward, palms on his knees, and started to speak. His words caught in his throat, broke, then tried again; Andrea reached over, laced her fingers through his and gave a slow, encouraging squeeze. Kevin watched, one corner of his mouth lifted in a private smile, as Joe’s stutter eased just enough for him to finish the thought. Andrea’s thumb traced small circles against the back of his hand, and Joe exhaled, grateful, the tension in his shoulders loosening under her touch. Kevin shifted closer, his knee brushing Joe’s, the three of them now close enough that the room seemed smaller, warmer, charged. Andrea’s free hand slid along Kevin’s thigh, resting high, the tips of her fingers pressing through denim. She glanced at both men in turn, eyes dark and unhurried, the unspoken offer hanging between them like a held breath. Joe swallowed, then nodded. Kevin answered with a low chuckle and leaned in, his mouth brushing the shell of Andrea’s ear as his hand covered hers, guiding it higher.
